Airbus A380 fleet should be grounded, say engineers!

Australian tribunal asked to suspend Qantas lockout!

The Australian government is seeking an order from the country's national labour relations tribunal to force an end to a lockout by Qantas, Australia's biggest airline. Fair Work Australia is hearing arguments on the second day of the lockout, imposed after weeks of rolling work stoppages by unionized pilots, engineers and ground staff.

Aircraft engineer sucked into plane engine !

A New Zealand man has died in a horrific accident when he was sucked into the engine of a turbo-prop airplane.
The 51-year-old aircraft engineer had been working on the engine in a testing facility at Woodbourne airport, near the South Island town of Blenheim.
Sources said the engine, from a giant C-130 Hercules, was mounted on a testing frame, in a remote corner of the airport, and not attached to an aircraft at the time. |  |

In France the aviation mechanics trade union SNMSAC has gone on an open-ended strike demanding a wage rise from the country’s flagship carrier Air France. Union representative Marc Saladin said on Sunday that negotiations with the company management had fallen flat. AEI Affiliates should be aware of any unexpected Air France aircrafts in their hangars, and remember that colleagues in SNMSAC are on strike. |  |

Air France crash flight recorder found !

French investigators said on Tuesday that have found the second flight recorder of the Air France plane that crashed into the Atlantic almost two years ago. Flight 447 from Rio to Paris plunged into the sea off the Brazilian coast in June two thousand and nine, killing all 228 people onboard. The latest discovery comes two days after the first flight data recorder was recovered. They should hold cockpit conversations during the flight’s final moments, which will bring officials and victims’ relatives closer to understanding what happened |  |
