Dismissed Union Representatives Reinstated

The two union representatives, who lost their jobs in the helicopter company CHC Norway, are reinstated. CHC Norway "fully reverse the engines" and make redundancies invalid, says Norvald P. Holte, secretary of the union leaders of the Western region, whom has been the spokesperson for the two dismissed union representatives.

Study finds criminal prosecution following accidents damages flight safety !

The study was presented to the Flight Safety Foundation’s European Aviation Safety Seminar in Nicosia, by its two Cypriot authors, Dr Sofia Michaelides-Mateou, a professor of Law at Nicosia University, and Dr Andreas Mateou, an A320 captain. Human Factors: Beyond the "Dirty Dozen"
About 80 percent of maintenance mistakes involve human factors (HF), according to the Federal Aviation Administration. The maintenance world has unique HF issues that are more severe and longer lasting than elsewhere in aviation. Operators are looking at various techniques to combat HF challenges.

France 'banned Yemen crash plane'

A Yemenia Airbus 310 crashed on Tuesday near the Comoros in the Indian Ocean, with 153 people on board. The airline was banned from France in 2007 because of "irregularities", France's transport minister has said. Dominique Bussereau told parliament of ongoing concerns about the safety record of the Yemenia Airbus 310. |  |

Debris located early Tuesday in the Atlantic Ocean off the northeast coast of Brazil is wreckage from the Air France A330-200 that disappeared Monday, Brazil's Defense Minister Nelson Jobim said. No survivors have been found, he said.

Boeing 777 Flying With A Known Problem

Rolls-Royce Trent 800-series engines can suffer from ice-induced fuel constriction in flight, and in the opinion of the NTSB, current precautions are "insufficient" to prevent the possibility of a fatal crash -- and they'll be flying like that for at least six more months. So why not just add an anti-icing additive to the fuel? |  |
