AEI Freezes Members Fee for 2010

In order to assist affiliates during the current economic crisis the AEI Executive Board has voted unanimously not to increase membership fees for 2010. AEI is well aware that many affiliates have had a difficult year and therefore fees due to paid in January 2010 should be calculated using 2009 rates.

AEI Annual Congress 2009, Varna Bulgaria

A review of the most interesting points on the agenda of the AEI Annual Congress held in Varna, Bulgaria.

AEI Annual Congress took place between 23rd and 27th of September with colleagues attending from several countries in Europe, and as far as Australia and New Zealand.

AEI President, Andreas Georgiades welcomed the Affiliates, and presented the AEI board for the participants and guests. He thanked the Bulgarian Aircraft Engineers Association for arranging the 37th. AEI Annual Congress.

If certain groups get their way, there will come a time in the near future when you may have to write an obituary for the Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer and other Aircraft Maintenance professionals. Among the groups allied against us are the airline operators who see independent certifying staff as a threat to their schedule and their bottom line, rather than the best insurance they could have to preserve their multimillion dollar assets in the sky.

Dismissed Union Representatives Reinstated

The two union representatives, who lost their jobs in the helicopter company CHC Norway, are reinstated. CHC Norway "fully reverse the engines" and make redundancies invalid, says Norvald P. Holte, secretary of the union leaders of the Western region, whom has been the spokesperson for the two dismissed union representatives. 

Aircraft Engineers International`s Annual Congress held in Varna, Bulgaria 23-26 Sept. fully support and congratulate the Norwegian union with the victory against illegal violation against union representatives.

Study finds criminal prosecution following accidents damages flight safety !

The study was presented to the Flight Safety Foundation’s European Aviation Safety Seminar in Nicosia, by its two Cypriot authors, Dr Sofia Michaelides-Mateou, a professor of Law at Nicosia University, and Dr Andreas Mateou, an A320 captain.
