Year of the Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer
By Secretary Europe
Published: Mar 4, 2007

The dawn of aviation belonged to enthusiasts, who on their own initiative constructed and maintained aircraft with the desire to fly, which has been one of the oldest man’s dreams. The continuous development and evolution of civilization enabled that dream to ecome a reality and air-traffic has become a necessity for modern society.

The dawn of aviation belonged to enthusiasts, who on their own initiative constructed and maintained aircraft with the desire to fly, which has been one of the oldest man’s dreams.

The continuous development and evolution of civilization enabled that dream to ecome a reality and air-traffic has become a necessity for modern society

The aviation industry today largely owes its existence to professionals who, each in their own way, take care of the safety of both passengers and aircraft.
One of the main pillars of the aviation safety today is directly related to aircraft engineers.
With their knowledge, continuous advanced training and professional attitude, they enable this kind of transportation of people and goods to develop in the best and safest possible way.

Under the current conditions of a growing economic pressure on civil aviation and especially transportation, it would seem that financial issues have taken precedence over aircraft maintenance.
Unfortunately time and time again, tasks which should be carried out by licensed aircraft maintenance engineers are delegated to persons with limited knowledge and training.

With maintenance related incidents and accidents on the increase, we have to defend traveling public by helping to enforce the existing aviation safety maintenance regulations.

In our continuing endeavors, AEI has proclaimed 2007 to be the "Year of the Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer".

AEI will therefore promote this theme by media exposure and public awareness throughout this current year.

This will also be followed up on the seperate: Year 2007 page.

AEI's main objective is and remains:

WE KEEP THEM FLYING... SAFELY.

AEI President. Andreas Georgiades
