Dismissed Union Representatives Reinstated
By AEI Editor
Published: Sep 26, 2009

Recently, two union leaders with 32 and 24 years of experience in CHC Norway (former CHC Helicopter Services) was terminated without any notice. Shortly after they were deprived of input cards to work and refused entry by security guards.

The two employees have decades of experience in CHC Norway as a technical advisor and staff executive. They got as justification for redundancies that they had not a positive attitude and that their work performance was deficient, even though they have never had complaints or warnings of any kind. They rejected the offer to leave the company, and thus dismissal was followed by blocking access to the workplace.

The trade unions in CHC Norway and its sister company, Heli One, six in number, reacted strongly to the methods of management. They said redundancies were illegal and that they violate both with Norwegian law and agreements.

Information from CHC Management

CHC Norway has gone through the situation that has developed after the company went to the dismissal of two employees. After considering all aspects of the case, the CHC Norway decided to exclude redundancies and offer the two employees to get back in their positions in line with their wishes.
