2007: Year of Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer
By Secretary Europe
Published: May 9, 2006

AEI, in its endeavours to promote air safety, has decided to declare year 2007 as the "Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) year".

AEI feels that the Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) represents the very fabric of air safety and as such it will promote the theme in order to make the general public, especially the air travelling one, aware of the fact and not only but also to make everybody understand the implications of the increasing commercial and financial pressures, which have been targeting aircraft maintenance standards for a considerable time now.

Andreas Georgiades
AEI President
